Use this free CPS test to measure how many clicks you make per second. Choose a time, click the test area, and see your total clicks and average speed. On a phone or tablet, you can tap instead.

Check Your Click Speed

Your first click starts the timer and counts toward your score.

Ready for a 5-second click speed test.

Compare attempts using the same device, input method, and test length. Take a break if your hand feels uncomfortable.

How to Take the Click Speed Test

  1. Choose a test length, from one to sixty seconds.
  2. Click or tap the test area to start, then keep activating that same area.
  3. Read your total clicks and average CPS when the timer ends. Use Reset Test for another attempt.

Understand Your CPS Result

Clicks per second is your total click count divided by the full test duration. For example, 35 clicks in five seconds equals 7 CPS. The tool shows this calculation below your result.

Longer attempts can feel different from a one-second burst. Keep your device, input method, and duration consistent when comparing results. Keyboard activation is supported, but compare it separately from mouse clicks or touch taps.

This is a browser-based practice score, not a mouse hardware diagnosis or a typing assessment. Leaving the tab resets an active attempt. The click tool does not upload your clicks or save your score.

For a keyboard challenge, try the Spacebar Counter. To measure words per minute and accuracy instead, take the typing skills test.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does CPS mean?

CPS means clicks per second. Divide your total clicks by the test length in seconds to find your average click speed.

Can I use the CPS test on my phone?

Yes. Tap inside the test area to count touch-screen taps. Compare tap scores separately from mouse clicks because the input methods differ.

What is a good CPS score?

There is no single target for everyone. Your device, technique, and test length affect the score. Compare your own attempts using the same setup rather than treating the result as a universal ranking.
